Shri Ram Chandra Mission is organising the Heartfulness Essay Event 2026 for young people aged 14–25 years. Participants can write their essays in any one of 12 approved languages, and there is no participation fee.
About The Organizer
Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) is a non-profit educational and spiritual service organization that has been promoting heart-based living through meditation as a means to universal peace and harmony for over 75 years, since its inception in 1945. The Heartfulness Essay Event is the 34th successive year of the event. Udaan Youth Club (UYC) is one of the partner institutions of the Heartfulness Essay Event 2026, encouraging youth from diverse backgrounds to participate.
About The Essay Event
The Heartfulness Essay Event 2026 invites participants aged 14–25 to write an essay on the topic assigned to their respective age category. The essay can be written in any one of the 12 available languages.
There is no participation fee.
Categories and Topics

Category 1 [Ages 14–18 years] – Word Limit: 500 words
Topic: “No one can hurt me without my permission.” -
Category 2 [Ages 19–25 years] – Word Limit: 750 words
Topic: “Acceptance is a sign of evolution.”
Languages
Participants can write their essay in any one of the following languages:
English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu
Contest Guidelines
- Only one essay may be submitted by a participant.
- Participants must select the correct category according to their age.
- The prescribed word limit must be followed.
- Essays may be typed or legibly handwritten on A4-size paper.
- The total word count must be mentioned at the end of the essay.
- Essays must be the original work of the participant.
- References or quotations used in the essay must be duly acknowledged.
- Plagiarised essays will be rejected.
- The essay must be uploaded in PDF format, with a maximum file size of 3 MB.
- The submission form requires a School/College/Institution ID in JPG/PDF format, with a maximum file size of 1 MB.
- No changes will be entertained after submission.
Evaluation Criteria
Essays will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Theme introduction/interpretation – 10%
- Structure and flow – 10%
- Language – 10%
- Originality – 20%
- Relevance of ideas to the theme – 40%
- Research/attention to details – 5%
- Conclusion – 5%
How to Submit?
Participants can submit their essays online through the official Heartfulness Essay Event submission portal. Applicants need to complete the required details, select their category and language, upload the essay and required document, and complete the declarations before submission.
