The Club of Rome — known globally for advancing systems change and long-term sustainability thinking — is investing in diverse voices from the Global South to shape how climate and development issues are communicated.
This is not a generic internship. It is a structured mentoring programme designed to build professional communicators who can translate complex research into impactful storytelling.
With only two positions available globally, competition is expected to be strong.

What You Will Do as a Communications Fellow
Over seven months, selected fellows will work closely with the communications team of the Club of Rome.
You will gain hands-on experience in web publishing, media outreach, event communications, social media strategy, and multimedia storytelling. The role includes creating content that explains systems thinking and sustainability research to non-specialist audiences.
Fellows will contribute to website articles, assist in preparing materials for campaigns and events, support multimedia production, and help expand global engagement efforts.
The fellowship runs full-time (36 hours per week) and is fully remote, allowing fellows to work from their home country. One work-related trip to meet members of the team will be funded.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open exclusively to residents of countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in science, journalism, or a related field. Current students or graduates of science journalism programmes are also encouraged to apply.
Candidates must demonstrate experience in writing about sustainability, research, or systems thinking for non-specialist audiences — or experience producing multimedia content on related topics.
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Applicants must show the ability to understand complex scientific ideas and communicate them clearly.
Alignment with the mission and vision of the Club of Rome is expected.
