Applications and memberships are open for the Children's Hope for Action and Better Impact Youth Advocacy Network (CHABIYAN), a youth-led network working on child rights, youth participation, and Sustainable Development Goals in Uttar Pradesh.

About CHABIYAN

CHABIYAN stands for Children’s Hope for Action and Better Impact Youth Advocacy Network. It is a collaborative youth initiative created to empower adolescents and young people as changemakers and advocates for child rights and sustainable development.

The network was initiated with support from UNICEF by bringing together students and faculty members from universities in Uttar Pradesh.

The founding institutions included:

• University of Lucknow
• Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University
• Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University
• Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University

Initially functioning as a closed youth team, the network later expanded to involve young people from across the state.

Vision of CHABIYAN

The network aims to:

• Promote and advocate for child rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Support implementation of frameworks like the UNCRC and CRPD
• Raise awareness on issues related to education, health, protection, participation, gender, and equity
• Provide a platform for youth voices in policymaking and social change
• Encourage grassroots campaigns and youth-led initiatives
• Build collaboration among youth, institutions, civil society, and stakeholders across Uttar Pradesh

Who Can Join?

To become part of CHABIYAN:

• Applicants must be residents of Uttar Pradesh
• Age must be between 13 and 30 years

The network is open to students, youth volunteers, young leaders, changemakers, and individuals interested in social impact and advocacy.
