Youth are invited to submit a short voice message for the first episode of the “Soil Legacy” podcast and share their experiences, solutions and message for COP17.

About The Opportunity

The “Youth Voice for Soil Legacy” submission invites young people from around the world to contribute a short voice recording for the first episode of a podcast.

Selected voice messages may be featured in the episode based on the depth of the message and audio quality. Even if a recording is not selected for the podcast, the organizers state that the contribution will be reflected in their Youth Statement as part of a collective global voice.

What Should Your Voice Note Include?

The recording should briefly cover four points:

Who & where: Your name and country.
What’s changing: One line about how land degradation or drought is affecting your life.
What are you building: One line about a solution you are working on.
Your message to COP17: One thing you want leaders gathering in Mongolia to do for your land and future.

The form provides an example of a young person describing drought, a seed-bank initiative and a message calling for support for young people working on the ground.

Submitting a recording does not guarantee that it will be featured in the podcast. Selection will depend on the depth of the message and audio quality.

The form also states that contributions not selected for the podcast will still be reflected in the Youth Statement as part of the collective global voice.
