The Department of Fisheries, in collaboration with MyGov, is inviting original paintings for the Blue Economy for Viksit Bharat Painting Competition 2026. Participants may create artwork using traditional mediums, submit it digitally and explain its message in up to 150 words. The top 30 entries will receive certificates from the Department of Fisheries.

About the Department of Fisheries
The Department of Fisheries functions under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India.
It works towards the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture, fish production, livelihood generation, food security and the welfare of fishers and fish farmers.
About the Competition
The competition forms part of a nationwide citizen-engagement campaign connected with National Fish Farmers Day 2026.
It aims to raise awareness about India’s fisheries and aquaculture sector, promote sustainable fishing practices and highlight the contribution of fish farmers to India’s Blue Economy.
Participants must creatively present the journey and possibilities of a “Blue Economy for Viksit Bharat.”

Theme
The competition theme is:
Blue Economy for Viksit Bharat
Artwork should communicate how fisheries, aquaculture, oceans and other aquatic resources can contribute to sustainable development and a developed India.
Objectives
The competition aims to:
- Increase awareness of India’s fisheries sector.
- Encourage participants to creatively depict the journey of the Blue Economy.
- Highlight sustainable fishing and aquaculture.
- Recognise the contribution of fishers and fish farmers.
- Connect the Blue Economy with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Eligibility Criteria
The activity is presented as a nationwide citizen-engagement competition.

Submission Guidelines
- Each participant may submit only one original painting.
- The artwork should preferably be created on A3 or A4 paper or canvas.
- The physical artwork must be photographed or scanned for digital submission.
- The entry must be uploaded in JPEG, JPG or PNG format.
- The maximum permitted file size is 10 MB.
- Participants must provide a short description explaining the artwork’s concept or message.
- The description must not exceed 150 words.
- The uploaded image should be clear, properly framed and easy to view.
- AI-generated, copied or plagiarised entries will be rejected.
- Entries must be submitted through the MyGov portal.

Important Note on the Terms and Conditions

How to Participate?
- Create an original painting based on the theme.
- Preferably use A3 or A4 paper or canvas.
- Scan or photograph the completed artwork clearly.
- Save the image in JPG, JPEG or PNG format.
- Ensure that the file size does not exceed 10 MB.
- Write a description of up to 150 words explaining the concept.
- Register or log in to MyGov.
- Upload the image and description through the official competition page.
- Confirm that the submission has been completed successfully.

Entries submitted after the deadline may not be considered.
