Painting Competition on Waste to Wealth 2026: Win up to ₹5,000 | Apply by Feb 15
The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with MyGov, has announced a national-level Painting Competition on the theme “Waste to Wealth”. The competition is being organized as part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, an initiative inspired by the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to promote cleanliness and sustainable living across India.
Indian citizens are invited to participate by submitting an original painting that reflects how waste can be transformed into valuable resources for a cleaner and greener future.
About Swachhata Pakhwada 2026
Since April 2016, all Union Ministries and Departments have been observing Swachhata Pakhwada to actively promote cleanliness-related activities. For 2026, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology will observe Swachhata Pakhwada from 1 February to 15 February 2026.
As part of this nationwide awareness drive, citizens are encouraged to express their ideas creatively through art and visual storytelling.

Painting Competition Theme: Waste to Wealth
The theme “Waste to Wealth” focuses on sustainable practices, recycling, reuse, and innovative ways to convert waste into useful products. Participants are expected to submit a painting that conveys their vision of environmental responsibility and resource efficiency.
Along with the painting, participants must include a short description explaining the idea or message behind their artwork.

Important Dates
The painting competition will remain open for submissions during the following period:
- Start Date: 1 February 2026
- Last Date: 15 February 2026
- Submission Deadline: 11:45 PM IST (GMT +5:30)
Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Rewards and Prizes
Winners of the competition will receive cash rewards as follows:
- First Prize: ₹5,000
- Second Prize: ₹3,000
- Third Prize: ₹2,000
Apart from monetary rewards, winners gain national recognition through the MyGov platform.
Who Can Participate?
The competition is open only to Indian nationals. Employees associated directly or indirectly with organizing the competition, along with their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate.
Each participant is allowed to submit only one entry.

Submission Guidelines
Paintings must be original and created by the participant. Submissions are accepted only in high-quality JPEG or PNG format. Any other file format will lead to disqualification.
The artwork must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content and must comply with the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. Plagiarized or copied entries will be rejected.

By participating, applicants agree that the organizers have the right to use the winning entries for promotional, educational, or awareness purposes. Participants remain responsible for any copyright or intellectual property issues related to their submission.
