UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship 2026 [For Indian; Fully Funded]: Apply by April 25

Applications are now open for the UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship on Leadership for Peace and Sustainability 2026. This fully funded international fellowship will be hosted at Humanitas College, Kyung Hee University in South Korea from 25 June to 4 July 2026.

The fellowship, offered by the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP), is designed to equip young Indian leaders with skills in peacebuilding, sustainability, governance, and social innovation. Selected participants will engage in immersive learning through case studies, policy discussions, field visits, and cultural exchange.

About the Fellowship

In an increasingly interconnected world facing challenges such as inequality, climate change, migration, and technological disruption, the fellowship aims to nurture leadership and problem-solving skills among youth. Participants will explore real-world case studies from the Asia-Pacific region and develop practical approaches to promote peaceful and inclusive societies.

Fellowship Details

The fellowship will take place in person at Humanitas College, Kyung Hee University, South Korea. It is a fully funded program covering travel, visa, accommodation, meals, and program expenses. The program duration is 25 June to 4 July 2026, and the application deadline is April 25, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be under 30 years of age
  • Be Indian citizens currently residing in India
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree by the start of the fellowship
  • Be available to attend the program in South Korea
  • Have proficiency in English

Youth from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, including persons with disabilities, are encouraged to apply.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit a statement of purpose, a two-page resume, two recommendation letters, and a copy of their latest degree certificate through the official application form.

Fellowship Experience

The fellowship will include interactive sessions, policy discussions, peer learning, and field visits. Participants will explore themes related to peacebuilding, digital innovation, governance, and sustainable development.
