About CARA
The Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) functions under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. It regulates and monitors the legal adoption process in India.
About the Competition
CARA and MyGov have launched this competition as part of Adoption Awareness Month 2026.
Participants must design an original poster that discourages direct and illegal adoption while promoting legal, transparent and child-centred adoption practices.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness about informal adoptions conducted through hospitals, nursing homes, unregistered childcare arrangements, middlemen, online platforms or other unauthorised channels. Such practices bypass legal safeguards and may expose children and families to serious legal, ethical and safety risks.
