beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship is a global environmental fellowship for young innovators who want to solve real environmental problems in their communities and beyond. The next cohort will begin in May 2026, and applications will officially open on 17 September 2025.

This fellowship is designed for youth who may not yet be entrepreneurs but are passionate about sustainability, climate action, and eco-innovation. Selected fellows receive long-term training, mentorship, funding support, and access to a global network of environmental leaders.

About the Fellowship

beVisioneers is designed and implemented by The DO School Fellowships and funded by Mercedes-Benz. Launched in 2023, the program aims to equip thousands of young people worldwide with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to turn environmental ideas into real-world solutions.

The fellowship supports projects focused on environmental protection, sustainability, and innovation, while helping young people grow as leaders.

What Makes beVisioneers Unique?

Unlike short programs or competitions, beVisioneers is a multi-year fellowship journey. It begins with a 12-month intensive phase, requiring a commitment of at least 24 hours per month.

During this foundational year, fellows receive structured innovation training through online modules, participate in local hub meetups, attend a regional summit, and get continuous support from venture coaches, mentors, experts, and peers. After the first year, fellows can apply for project scholarships of up to €20,000 to further develop and scale their environmental initiatives.

Even after completing the intensive phase, fellows remain part of a long-term global community that supports leadership growth and local impact.

Who Can Apply?

This fellowship is open to young people aged 16 to 28 years who live in one of the participating countries and will continue to reside there during the fellowship period.

Applicants must be able to communicate in English, as the program is conducted in English. Previous entrepreneurial experience is not required. What matters most is your motivation, commitment, and passion for building a sustainable future.

What Does the Application Process Involve?

The application process takes around 30–40 minutes and is divided into three parts.

First, applicants complete a written application that includes basic personal information, details about the environmental problem they want to address, their learning and financial needs, a self-assessment test, and a scanned copy of a passport or national ID.

Next, applicants must record a short video interview of up to three minutes through the official application platform. In this video, you explain the environmental challenge you care about and your idea to solve it. Applications without a video submission are not considered.

The final section is optional and is only for applicants who need financial support. Those applying for financial assistance must provide a reference (from a non-family member who is employed) and complete an income declaration.

Financial Support and Funding

Fellows can access financial support if needed to participate in the program. Additionally, after completing the first year, fellows may receive project scholarships of up to €20,000 to advance their environmental projects.
