#IDWGS Essay: Women and science, new era of sustainability by Romal

The theme of this essay is on international day of women and girls in science. We will be discussing about women and girls in science leadership, a new era for sustainability. With this in mind i would say women play a vital role in science and technology, helping in providing different and various new ideas in the field. It not only helps in increasing productivity but also breaking social barriers leading to continuous growth and development in nation. Earlier we know according to indian view, women were not allowed to get out of their homes and do education or job. However presently women are seen giving their views and contribution in various fields. It have lead to betterment of nation and bringing diversity in research. No doubt in science and technology, mostly we have seen these areas are dominated by boys still as we are seeing growing changes women are adapting and equally participating as boys. Its proven that women are no less then men. 

Due to many inventions, research made by women we are enjoying various different things in our life. There are many famous examples of women in science where they have rose name of their nation and now are role model for many women and giving them motivation to step out of their shell and explore the world of science. Some of famous examples are: marie curie, shakuntla devi, katherine johnson and many more. We all know about marie curie who recived noble prize for her outstanding discovery identically kalpana chawla first indian origin women who was chosen to go to international space station. Women contribute to almost 30% in science as said by UNESCO. 

Markedly women should come out and show their ability to world by giving various contribution in science and technology.it is possible that we will get excellent results in future if women will actively participate in this field. It will thereby motivate and empower other women to explore and work in various field of science similarly encouraging future generations. The theme of this essay emphasizes role of women in shaping sustainable development . The history of the day as women and girls in science and technology was observed on 11 February annually which explains and unfold various women discovery and achievements in different fields of science. This day holds high importance as it helps in inspiring future generations, promoting gender equality. It tells how women help in sustaining future. Apart from various hinders and problems faced by women they never fail to show their capabilities to everyone.

The fact that men are much smarter then women this statement is significantly proven wrong by women . Nowadays more and more women are coming out and doing research in science. They don’t consider themselves lowly or small but equally coming out . Looking at their confidence they should be encouraged more and more and provided various facilities such as scholarships , proper guidence etc. We need women’s input in new technology that is been made. However there have been improvements coming out in this scope. The field of science and technology have aroused interest in their minds. We can see increased enrolment of women in this field, they are contributing towards well being of nation as whole. They possesses the viewpoint that with acquisition of education, they will be able to sustain their living conditions better. 

Women in science also women specifically situated in time and place. They struggled in common with their male counterparts against fascism, racism and discrimination but also achieved such pinnacles as noble prize. Women in different times braved and broke all the odds to pursue their love for science. Concluding this all i would be saying that 11 february itself holds great important various awareness programmes has been organised on this day ,talking about events this by this essay writing competition itself we got to learn about various discoveries achieved by women’s obtaining new knowledge. Women’s should be provided new opportunities so they can show their capabilities to everyone. 

Their presence in research and science leads to foundation of various new discoveries . It produces diversity and variation in various fields of science such as in biology women can help in better understanding of various functions of female body , various diseases related to female body .for example : gynecologists they are mostly females . Women’s are showing greater interest in field of science according to them this is paving their path for more research and growth as in different fields.
