New Delhi, India | June 2026
MY Bharat, the flagship youth engagement platform of India’s Department of Youth Affairs, has been awarded a Guinness World Records™ title for achieving the highest participation in an online quiz within one week. The recognition was conferred after 390,812 eligible participants successfully completed the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue (VBYLD) Quiz during the official assessment period, establishing a new world record in the category of “Most Users to Take an Online Quiz in One Week.”
The achievement highlights the growing role of digital platforms in enabling large-scale youth participation and civic engagement. Designed to strengthen awareness and involvement in the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, the VBYLD Quiz attracted participation from more than 5 million young people across all 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India, demonstrating the enthusiasm of young citizens to contribute ideas and engage in conversations about the country’s future.

The Guinness World Records™ certificate was presented during a ceremony at Shram Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, senior government officials and representatives of Guinness World Records™.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Mandaviya dedicated the recognition to India’s youth, describing it as a reflection of their aspirations, active participation and commitment to nation-building. He noted that MY Bharat has emerged as a significant platform for youth engagement, creating opportunities for young people to contribute to public initiatives, share ideas and participate meaningfully in the country’s development journey.
Since its launch, MY Bharat has grown into one of India’s largest youth engagement ecosystems, recording more than 21.9 million registrations. Through volunteering opportunities, leadership programmes, experiential learning initiatives and community-driven activities, the platform aims to strengthen youth participation and empower young people to become active contributors to society.

Among the youth representatives invited to witness and celebrate the achievement was Aman Kumar, a MY Bharat volunteer from Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh. His journey reflects how access to information, community engagement and youth participation platforms can help young people emerge as leaders within their communities.
Growing up in a rural area with limited resources, Aman became aware of the challenges many young people face in accessing educational and career opportunities. Motivated by the belief that information can transform lives, he later initiated efforts to connect young people with opportunities related to education, scholarships, competitions, internships and skill development.
Through Project Contest 360, a youth-focused information initiative, millions of young people have been connected with learning and development opportunities. His work is driven by a simple idea: that no young person should be left behind because of a lack of information or access.
Aman has also been actively involved in youth leadership and volunteer engagement through MY Bharat and community-based initiatives. As President of Udaan Youth Club, he works with young volunteers to promote participation in social action, leadership development and nation-building activities at the grassroots level. He previously represented young people from across Uttar Pradesh as Group Captain during the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue, highlighting the importance of youth voices in shaping conversations about the future.
His participation in the Guinness World Records™ recognition ceremony illustrates the broader impact of youth engagement platforms that create pathways from local participation to national leadership. It demonstrates how young people from diverse backgrounds can contribute meaningfully when provided with opportunities to learn, volunteer, collaborate and lead.
Beyond the record itself, the achievement underscores the potential of technology-enabled platforms to expand access to civic participation and leadership opportunities for millions of young people. As countries seek innovative approaches to engage youth in development processes, the MY Bharat experience offers an example of how digital tools can help strengthen participation, foster community engagement and empower the next generation of leaders.
