UNESCO MOOD Workshop 2026: UN Certified Climate Learning for Youth
UNESCO has invited young people to participate in an online workshop marking the launch of MOOD (Meaningful Open Opportunities for Discovery), a United Nations University–certified pedagogical learning format. The workshop will be held online on 27 January 2026 and is open to youth interested in climate action, leadership, peace, and global citizenship.
This session is designed as an interactive learning experience rather than a lecture, allowing participants to reflect, connect, and explore real-world global challenges through a guided process.
About the Organizer
This initiative is supported by UNESCO’s Global Skills Academy (GSA), which operates under the UNESCO Global Education Coalition. The Global Skills Academy works to expand access to quality learning opportunities worldwide and equip learners with future-ready skills in areas such as sustainability, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and global citizenship.
The invitation is coordinated by the SDG 4 Youth & Student Network Secretariat at UNESCO, which engages young people in advancing inclusive and equitable quality education globally.
About MOOD (Meaningful Open Opportunities for Discovery)
MOOD is an immersive, United Nations University–certified learning journey designed to help learners develop agency on major global challenges such as climate change, leadership, peace, and sustainability.
Instead of focusing only on information, MOOD emphasizes reflection, emotional connection, and collective dialogue. Participants move from personal experiences to a shared understanding of global challenges and explore how local action can contribute to global solutions.
As a MOOD learner, participants also become part of a global learning community contributing to UNESCO’s mission to empower millions of learners worldwide.
What the Workshop Will Offer
The online workshop will introduce the MOOD methodology through a guided reflection focused on climate and the environment. Participants will explore how global challenges connect to their own lives and communities and how collective thinking can inspire meaningful action.
This is a hands-on experience designed to help learners think systemically, reflect deeply, and engage constructively with others from different backgrounds.
